This compact itinerary focuses on Udzungwa Mountains National Park and the Kilombero River without the longer drives to Ruaha or Mikumi. It suits add-on days after a mainland safari, a Morogoro or Iringa stopover, or travellers who want rainforest, waterfalls and river wildlife in one short trip.
You stay at Udzungwa Mountains Inn Hotel (or similar) for three nights, hike to Sanje Waterfalls with a park guide, then transfer to the Kilombero for a canoe safari with birdwatching and chances to see hippos and crocodiles along the banks.
